the beltway. let's look at doppler radar to show you where the areas are. in southern fairfax and southern montgomery charles, st. mary's, calvert county, already getting some snow. in fredericksburg and culpeper as well. front royal and winchester and hagerstown as well. we are reporting at reagan national, have not seen any snowflakes in rocklin. if we are under a winter weather revisory for the potential of up to an inch of snow. that will be isolated. more of us will see just a dusting, a half-inch. there are a few rivers frederick loudoun derickson, morgan county is for that. wind chills factor in the upper 20s. it will be a cold and blustery day. a little sunshine before the day is over. from the belfort furniture weather center, i hope traffic is doing ok. steve? >> traffic is just getting

started. not bad right now on 95 or 295 although the hov gates were little late to open. they will be opening from dumphries to the prince william parkway. there is a backup on 95 northbound from stafford county to the first hov entrance. it should be the next couple next. north of that looks ok across the occoquan and over to 395. no problems from frederick county and to montgomery county and all the way down to the lane divide. things are open around the beltway in maryland and virginia. so far, so good. back to you. >> thank you. get ready for traffic headaches. the eastbound ramp connecting 395 to pennsylvania avenue has been shut down and the sousa bridge as part of the 11th street bridge project. >> brianne carter has what you need to know.

>> good morning. traffic is flowing freely this morning despite the closure that went into place last night. ddot stopping traffic from falling on to the usual pennsylvania avenue about that so many people are used to using. this is part of a much bigger projects to improve traffic from 295 through capitol hill and downtown. ddot shut down the eastbound southeast southwest freeway connecting 395 to pennsylvania avenue. this is the latest. the closure expected to last 18 to 20 months. drivers are figuring out they need to be able to shift on to the 695 outbound bridge. it is expected to last 18 to 20 months. brianne carter abc 7. >> icy snow flakes coming down in her shot. >> more school delays.

>> welcome back on this friday morning. breaking news from overseas. >> multiple people killed in a bomb explosion in pakistan. jummy olabanji has what is going on. >> good morning. at least 12 people killed when a bomb went off outside a mosque in northwest pakistan in a town located right along the afghanistan border. according to the police chief at least 35 people have also been injured. the bomb was placed at the exodus of a mosque. it went off as people were leaving morning prayers. there was evidence this may be a suicide attack. they are investigating right now at this early hour. any new details we get, we will

there is snow coming down. >> it is light, but a few spots are starting to accumulate a little in the grassy areas. roads have been treated. hopefully the commute will be ok, but the timing is all wrong. this will be over by 9:00 or 10:00 this morning. let's show you the doppler radar and where the concern is. most of the heavy snow is south of the beltway. let's show you what's happening. there you can see culpeper and warrenton and we have been seeing it in waldorf charles county. much of the district is still doing ok at this time. not much more than flurries. alexandria reporting little coax -- coating. hagerstown has seen some light snow. and a little snow flurries in leesburg within 30 minutes. the national weather service has put us under winter weather advisory for the potential of up

to an inch of snow. it first straddles the 95 corridor. in the higher elevations they exceed 5 inches. garrett county has announced school delays and heavy accumulation expected. 36 degrees at reagan national. most of the rest of us are around the freezing mark. and it's 31 at dulles, 34 in manassas, 36 in culpeper. it does not matter that we are above freezing in a few spots. the snow is going to stick because the ground is cold enough. that's why it will stimulate. to have a bit of a wind chill factor. this afternoon the wind will increase. so you will feel it this afternoon. not as bad as yesterday and no advisories, but we could get gusts up to 30 miles an hour. looking across the region, you can see a quick moving system, and will be pulling off shore by

we started this about 3:00 a.m. and it will continue through 9:00 and then its done. it's not a lie but enough that it could cause travel headaches. here is the area we are talking about. there is the d.c. area. here's the beltway, and this is 66. much of it is to the south of the area. some of it is not hitting the ground. south of manassas, towards dale city along 95, towards down in these areas. upper marlborough as well. annapolis, i cannot see if it is hitting. tweet me. leesburg, it's coming down. as well as purcellville and woodmont. a dusting at best. everybody should stay under an inch. a winter weather advisory in effect for the metro area because of this. it has more to do with the timing of this, not because it's going to be heavy snow.

weather advisory until about 9:00. a few spots could get up to an inch. we have seen that in the panhandle already. it's 34 degrees with the dew point of 23, southwest wind at 9 miles an hour. the wind is calmer than yesterday morning, however it will pick in this afternoon. 31 degrees at dulles, 28 in gaithersburg, 34 degrees in culpeper, 36 in lexington park. 32 degrees in easton. it feels colder with the wind chill. it feels like 26 at dulles. winchester feels like 13 degrees at this hour. we have a big dip in the jet stream again. that allows the cold air to invade. this will stay in place through tomorrow before retreats to the north a little. our next chance of precipitation will be in the form of snow once again.
